Human Induced Regeneration
Through management activities such as stopping mechanical destruction, reducing stocking rate and the number of waterpoints, controlling feral animals and implementing rotational grazing, the suppression of native forest is relaxed. Native forest can begin to regrow and regenerate – storing carbon in the woody trunks and biomass.
Reforestation & Revegetation
Revegetation projects capture carbon by permanently planting native trees to establish forest cover. This method uses the Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM) to work out the carbon captured by the growing trees, shrubs and debris (dead plant material).
Biodiversity Credits Assessment
This can include properties managed for agriculture, livestock, horticulture, mixed farming and/or market gardening. Your property is assessed for its biodiversity and restoration potential and subsequently allocated a number of biodiversity credits.
Integrated Farm and Land Management method
The Integrated Farm and Land Management (IFLM) method is an upcoming method currently in the process of drafting by the Department of Climate Change Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) in consultation with stakeholders including AiCarbon.
